Fun With Paint Chips!

This is my Home Depot paint chip book, and I LOVE this thing - I've used it countless times.

My good blog-buddy Veronica Diago has come up with a super-fun idea for us all to try out!

The Paint Chip Fun Project! (The PCFP)

We are each posting, encouraging all our followers and visitors to get creative with paint chips. You can create anything you like, and you don't have to be an "artist" to give it a go. Just let your imagination take over - pretend you're a kid again! You could make a 2-D or 3-D art project, take a photograph, do a craft, whatever comes to mind.

The best part is, paint chips are FREE! And if you're anything like me, you've already got a stash of them lying around in a drawer somewhere....

It's going to be very interesting to see what different ideas we all come up with. I'm going to post a picture of all the creations this Friday with a link to your blog, website, etc. Submissions are due this Thursday, as late as you want as long as it's still Thursday, May 7 th. You can send your submissions to: elisafolino@gmail.com

Are you excited already?

Go run to your closest hardware store and grab a few!

Don't forget to check out Veronica's blog on Friday, too, to see more paint-chip fun!

See you soon paint chip addicts !

  2. Color me intrigued! I might just have to swing by Home Depot on my way home from work and procure an arsenal of paint samples! My mind is already starting to buzz with possibilities...

  3. Oh, will there be prizes, too? Not that it makes any difference, just having fun while being creative is the main thing!

  4. I don't think we were planning on prizes (how could we choose??!), just celebrating creativity and giving out a lot of link-love!

Veronica got the idea in part from Cathy Nichol's blog, where she did Found Art Fridays

  5. I can't wait to see everyone's art projects! I wish I had time to do one this week (I have hundreds of paint chips laying around), but I'm juggling two renovation jobs right now. I love my Sherwin Williams color book like you love your Home Depot color book. It rides around in the car with me everywhere I go - always! Veronica has a great blog, she's so very talented.

  6. Sounds like a plan. I have a bunch in my car from redoing my bathroom. although now I wish I had chosen a different color. Too late! It's already painted and I'm NOT doing that again for another few years.

  9. Ladies my paint chip post is up. I included myself in the idea pool for the digital aspect of it only. I am way behind on everything, but I'm trying to get at least something done by tomorrow.

  11. Of course I am! I have no shame ;-)

Miss May accompanied me to Home Depot today and I picked up a ridiculous number of chips (didn't know they had so many new ones!). I let the girls each create something alongside me at the table this afternoon, and I think I'll go ahead and post theirs, too. There's no art like children's art - completely free and agendaless.
