Mommy brain
I did, really, I did! I studied French literature and art, had philosophic conversations, saw arty foreign films and read the newspaper. Hung out at coffee houses and cafes and listened to live music. Took photos of architecture that intrigued me. Traveled (a little bit).
Now...I wander around singing "Boinga" from the Backyardigans.

I had to Google to see what the Backyardigans were. lol I guess that's definitely a change up.
ReplyDeleteOkay.. that was a serious ROTFLMAO read. Just watch Little Einsteins and Wonder Pets, you get more culture diversity with them. have fun!
ReplyDeletelol, at least you don't suffer iggle piggle or lazytown...!! oh god i'm even been dragged into watching the live show! Although to be fair i think i lost my mind long ago anyway... ;)
ReplyDeleteYes, life will never be the same (at least not for a while), but I've discovered the Wonder Pets and have quite a thing for DJ Lance on Yo Gabba Gabba! (Is that wrong?)
ReplyDelete"Wonder Pets, Wonder Pets, we're on our way
ReplyDeleteto help the baby dolphin and save the day.
We're not too big and we're not too tough
but we work together and we've got the right stuff!"
Yeah. I've seen it a few times.
JC: DJ Lance...really??
Biba: Don't know Iggle Piggle, unless that's what we get as Jakers something-or-other. But Lazytown live could be fun...right?
Haha, so funny. Glad you got a day off :)
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. When my mother comes over she likes to put on old kids records (Ding Dong School, Romper Room, etc.) As much as I love old music, these songs make me insane. Do you have any idea how hard it is to get The Do-Be Song out of your head?
ReplyDeleteI kinda dig DJ Lance too. I like it when he kicks really high and does a clap under his leg.
i really don't know how moms do it! you guys juggle so much and sacrifice so much. i am single and selfish w/boyfriend and 2 cats. and i think that is all i can handle.
ReplyDeleteWe will all fall under the iron, but adorable, hand of Little girls soon, my niece told me this in secret, she said thise will happen sometime around June when school is out. Hello Kitty shaped mind sucking machines will turn us into pink Play-Doh shells of what we formerly were. They will make all transportation illegal except for magic ponys and our monetary system will be glitter amd Winnie The Pooh stickers. Shoot me now.

ReplyDeletewe has our viewsat fry a few weeks ago, part of me misses the break I get from those shows. My daughter loves Barney,Yo Gabba Gabba and little Einsteins but at the same time its been nice too to get away from it.
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done with the place! The color scheme and starbursts (?) are just the right touch! You have excellent taste. Now, would you please pass the sugar?
ReplyDeletesame thought goes through my head every single day :(
ReplyDeletecést la vie.
I am so sick of having elmos world stuck in my head.
Glad you other Mamas can commiserate!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliments on my new decor Anthony! Here's the sugar (substitute for you!). Please pass the scones.
I feel your pain. We have Iggle Piggle songs everyday (The Night Garden , by the creators of Teletubbies and only marginally less mind numbing). The solution is to fill your iPod with big band, swing and some great Rat Pack tracks, then let the kids shuffle those to their hearts content. My Four year old has this down pat, so we start the day with Doris Day now. Big improvement.
ReplyDeleteI have had the Strawberry Shortcake song stuck in my head for about three months now and I sing it indiscriminately wherever I go. It seems to have replaced the section of my brain that kept track of where I left things.
